Hello, friend.
I'm Wade.
High-Performance Golf Coach & Director of Instruction. Husband, dad, and entrepreneur โ here to lower your worst rounds, not just your best.
A little about me.
I grew up in a beautiful home about 10 miles outside of Petersburg, TX.
I started teaching golf as an assistant pro at Lubbock Country Club in 2014. In August of 2017, I became Director of Instruction at 4ORE Golf.
There isn't just one way to swing the club โ there are infinite ways, and the right one is based on what your body can physically do.
As a TPI Certified Professional, I believe in the bodyโswing connection. It helps me understand how your body affects your swing, and why you swing the way you do โ so I can build a custom golf swing for each client.
A key responsibility as a TPI Certified coach is assessing whether your swing could cause injury. I can assess and modify your swing to protect your body so you can play golf the rest of your life.
I also believe in using technology to provide pivotal feedback. I've been a TrackMan owner and certified professional since 2015 โ it's by far the most valuable piece of tech I use every day.
I only use technology that provides valuable feedback.
You've been taught golf all wrong.
Most golfers are way too focused on building a perfect swing, hitting the ball straighter, or chasing their next lowest score.
Here's the pain point for most golfers:
They keep trying to hit more fairways and greens, sticking the ball closer to the pin in hopes of making more pars and birdies. So every range session is about the swing and a perfectly straight ball flight.
This is the longest route to your best scores.
Here's the unspoken secret golf professionals aren't telling youโฆ
The best way to improve your scores is to fix your worst rounds โ not your best.
Now, this may seem backward, so let me prove it. Answer a few questions:
- When you don't shoot your lowest score, do you notice it comes down to one to three holes?
- Do your biggest misses add the most strokes to your round? (OB balls, shanks, fat chips, 3-putts, and so on.)
- How can trying to hit it straighter and closer to the hole overcome your biggest misses?
- How can trying to hit more fairways overcome two or three shots out of bounds?
This is how 99% of golfers think โ and golf professionals aren't helping you change it.
The solution is lowering your absolute worst rounds, not your best. The key is correcting your worst misses, not trying to hit it straighter.
Take a 20, a 5, a scratch, and a +3 handicap and compare their biggest possible misses off the tee. Picture the poor shots each might hit. Who has the worst miss, and who has the best?
Of course the +3 has the better miss โ but they still consider it a miss. It just doesn't cause big numbers on the scorecard, because their misses don't go out of bounds as often as a 20 handicap's do.
It's unbelievable that this isn't being taught.
You practice way too much โ and it's inefficient.
Most golfers think you need 2โ3 hours per session to see results. It's true the more you practice, the more results you can seeโฆ
โฆbut it's far more important to practice effectively and efficiently.
Most instructors don't teach you the importance of practice โ and they definitely don't teach you how to be effective and time-efficient.
If you want to 10X your results, you need one critical mindset.
100% your past instructor never taught you when to focus on swing performance vs. ball performance. Sometimes we don't need to focus on the ball โ we need to focus on the swing and movement pattern.
Why? Fixing a slice might be a two-step process. The first step may not change ball flight at all โ the ball might even fly worse. But once the second step clicks, you'll finally see it in the flight.
If your only measure of success is what the ball did, you'll stop practicing or quit. Sound familiar? That little white ball doesn't always fly the way we want โ and it won't tell you whether you're moving your hips correctly into the backswing.
Good news: you'll learn all of this when you take a lesson with me.
