3 Tee Drill — 4 Feet
One breaking putt. Three aim points. Three different speeds. This drill measures whether you can control speed well enough to hole the same putt on three different lines.
Tee 1 · Firm
Tee 2 · Medium
Tee 3 · Die
1
Find a breaking 4-footer. Set your ball 4 feet from the hole on a putt with real break. Everything in this drill happens from that one spot.
2
Place three tees as aim points. Each tee is a line you could start the ball on. Space them at least ½" apart. Tee 1 = tightest line (firm speed). Tee 3 = widest line (die speed).
3
Test before you score. Hit a few practice putts and confirm every tee is actually makeable at some speed. If a tee can't go in, move it. Do not start the location until all three work.
4
Hit one putt from each tee. Three putts. You must change speed to match each line. That's the whole point — same putt, three different speeds.
5
Repeat at 4 locations. New hole location or new angle each time. Reset your three tees. 4 locations × 3 putts = 12 putts total.
6
Score it. One point per make. Log every miss by type so the app can tell you whether you're losing putts to speed or to line.
Miss Types
Too Fast — good line, ran through the break
Too Slow — good line, took too much break
Short — never reached the hole
Push — started right of the tee line
Pull — started left of the tee line
Speed misses (Too Fast / Too Slow / Short) mean your touch didn't match the line you chose. Line misses (Push / Pull) mean the ball never started on the tee. The app splits these out for you.
